Restored Authority: The Power of the Cross

We’re all saved by Jesus’ amazing grace. Most believers understand that His death on the cross paid for our sins, giving us hope for eternity and purpose in the present. But the Cross accomplished more than just forgiveness—it reclaimed what humanity lost.

From the very beginning, God created people in His image and gave them authority to reign and govern. Adam and Eve were placed in the garden not just to survive, but to subdue and steward. They walked in peace, purpose, and daily fellowship with God.

But disobedience changed everything.

When sin entered the world, authority was forfeited and the enemy gained influence. What was once effortless became exhausting. Humanity became bound to toil, fear, and spiritual distance from God.

Still, God had a plan.

In Genesis 3:15, He promised a Redeemer—one who would crush the head of the serpent and reclaim what was lost. That promise was fulfilled through Jesus.

The Cross was not only about saving souls—it was about restoring dominion. Jesus didn’t just die; He disarmed the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:15). He didn’t just rise; He reinstated believers as co-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17). He didn’t just forgive; He gave back authority (Luke 10:19).

So why do so many still live like they’re powerless?

Believers are called to walk in restored authority—not to beg, cower, or shrink back, but to speak boldly, live in alignment, resist the enemy, and command the atmosphere around them.

Jesus reversed the curse. He returned what the enemy stole. And He seated His people with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).

The question now is: Are we walking in what’s already been restored?
